We are all under physical constraints.

  • We can only be in one place at a time
  • We only have 24 hours in any one day
  • We have to eat and sleep and commute and connect within that 24 hours.

But beyond this, our world has gotten too complex, change is coming at us too fast, for any of us to understand all the tools, all the options, all the technical challenges. We all have certain interests and strengths. We know our strengths by what has us excited, gives us energy and what just makes time fly. We know our weaknesses. Those things we put off and those things we use brainpower to avoid, point at our weaknesses.

We all have constraints. To really break out of our box of constraints we have to make 2 decisions.

  • We have to objectively look at our limitations. This in not just the limitations we can do something about. This is all our limitations. We look at overcoming limitations separately. We will discuss this in much more depth as we proceed.  This can take a lot of analyzing.
  • It can also take a lot of trust. We have to determine our own threshold for trusting other people. To create collaboration, we have to discuss, and share ideas. I have every confidence as we build our virtual meeting spaces, as we develop our discussion forums, as we meet physically and get to know each other, we are going to gain the confidence of our fellow collaborators.
  • One key reason will be that this is a no BS, hype free zone. Everything we build here has a strategic purpose. Helping people connect and create value together. We have a code of conduct. We will identify a variety of bad behaviors we will not tolerate. The BS and hype are outside the fence. Inside just peace and quiet.

Our next discussion will move into how to create big new opportunities for Rainmakers. Through collaboration we can overcome limitations on time and energy; but we can also step up into new forms of synergy that will put our Top Guns in front of more buyers more hours of the day. We will first talk about overcoming limitations and then we will talk about creating synergy.
