I know some really talented rainmakers who are doing great in this economy. More power to them. Unfortunately, they are not doing as well as they might. It is so easy to get caught up in the excitement of the business development chase that often rainmakers do not stop and figure out how to take stuff off their plates and allow other talented people to contribute to our rainmaker’s productivity.
Imagine figuring out how to make yourself twice as productive creating business value. If they would, these Rainmakers would be pleased to see their personal profit margins headed through the roof. I would venture into some math here, but these top performers understand margins and profitability, fixed and variable costs, and understand the ramification of increasing sales and holding fixed costs to a minimal increase.
Building right on top of this success, our rainmakers are also spreading opportunity to other talented people, more people are productively engaged and the local economy is growing faster. We are also creating more rainmakers. And business builders are valuable for creating business.
Now finding talent to share the work load doesn’t always require hiring new employees. The right people can be fit into a particular project until everything proves itself. These relationships all start with having a conversation with talented people and finding compatible and trustworthy talent that can help wherever help is needed. The rainmaker can then go for the gold fulfilling his or her strategic objectives. The result is increasing market share, a clear path to future growth, the acclimatization of everyone to the new business order, and the acquisition of new clients.
This is a complex subject. It is also a very powerful tool for business growth in North Texas. We will return to removing limitiations on everyone especially those who can make a huge difference in business growth in future postings. Feel free to add your thoughts. Imagine what we can do together if we put our talents and experience towards the common cause of business growth.
